Getting Started
How do I connect my Shopify store?
Install ListSEO from the Shopify App Store. Once installed, open the app from your Shopify Admin sidebar. You’ll be guided to select which product collections to sync.
What Shopify permissions does ListSEO need?
ListSEO needs read/write access to your Products (titles, descriptions, meta fields, images, tags). We never access customer data, orders, or payment information.
Is there a free plan?
Yes! The Free plan includes 25 one-time optimizations. Paid plans (Basic, Growth, Pro) include a 7-day free trial with full features. No credit card required upfront — Shopify handles billing.
AI Rewrites
How do AI rewrites work?
Select the products you want to optimize, choose what to rewrite (titles, descriptions, meta tags), and click Rewrite. Our AI analyzes your product data and generates SEO-optimized content tailored to your brand voice.
Can I rewrite in bulk?
Yes! Select multiple products and run bulk rewrites. Depending on your plan, you can process 25 to 100 products per bulk job.
Will rewrites change my live store immediately?
You choose. For single product rewrites, you can Push to Shopify (immediate) or Save to Drafts (review first). Bulk rewrites always go to the draft queue for review before anything touches your store.
Draft Queue
What are the draft statuses?
Pending: awaiting your review. Ready: approved and waiting to be published. Live: pushed to your Shopify store. Rejected: dismissed and won’t be applied.
What does auto-approve do?
When auto-approve is enabled, bulk rewrites skip Pending and go straight to Ready status. They are not auto-published — you still choose when to push them to your store.
SEO Scoring
How is the SEO score calculated?
Your score is based on 6 weighted factors: Title Quality (20%), Description Quality (25%), Meta Tags (20%), Keywords (15%), Trends (10%), and AI Search Readiness (10%). Each factor evaluates length, structure, keyword usage, and more.
What is the AIO score?
AIO (AI Overview) scoring measures how well your product content is optimized for AI-powered search engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. It evaluates natural language quality, specificity, and structured data.
Trends & Seasonal Keywords
What is the Trends feature?
Discover trending seasonal and evergreen keywords for your market. Configure your region and product categories to see relevant keyword opportunities that can boost your product visibility.
Do trending keywords affect my SEO score?
Yes. Products using trending keywords score higher on the Trend Factor, which accounts for 10% of the total SEO score.
Are trending keywords used in AI rewrites?
Yes. When you run a rewrite, relevant trending keywords for your market are automatically provided to the AI as context, so the generated content naturally incorporates timely search terms.
Alt Text Generation
How does AI alt text work?
ListSEO uses Claude Vision to analyze your product images and generate descriptive, keyword-rich alt text. This helps with image search rankings and accessibility compliance.
Can I generate alt text in bulk?
Yes, available on Growth and Pro plans. Select multiple products and generate alt text for all their images in one operation.
Tag Generation
How does smart tag generation work?
Our AI analyzes your product content, category, and target market to generate relevant SEO-optimized tags. Tags help Shopify organize products, power collection filters, and improve internal search.
Brand Tone
How do I set my brand voice?
Go to Settings and configure your brand tone. Choose from presets (luxury, casual, technical, playful) or describe your custom voice. All AI generations will match your tone.
Rollback & History
Can I undo changes?
Yes! Every change is tracked with full version history. Click the rollback button on any product to instantly revert to any previous version.
Billing
How does the free trial work?
All paid plans include a 7-day free trial with full features and daily usage limits (e.g., 15/day on Basic, 50/day on Pro). No credit card required upfront — Shopify handles billing at the end of the trial.
Can I buy more rewrites?
Yes! Paid plan subscribers can purchase add-on rewrite packs (50, 150, or 500 rewrites) as one-time purchases. Credits persist until fully used — no expiration.
How do I cancel?
Go to your Shopify Admin → Settings → Billing to manage or cancel your ListSEO subscription. You’ll keep access until the end of your current billing period.
Security & Privacy
Is my store data safe?
Yes. We use encrypted database connections, Row-Level Security, HMAC verification for Shopify webhooks, and TLS/SSL for all data in transit. We never store your Shopify access tokens in plain text.
Does the free audit tool store my data?
No. The free SEO audit processes your publicly available product data in real-time and does not store any of it on our servers.
